Job summary

Nationwide Vision in Tucson, AZ seeks an Optical Technician to dispense and fit glasses/contacts under clinician prescriptions, supporting a world-class Total Patient Experience and retail sales. You will work with frames, lenses and coatings, operate lensometry equipment, and ensure accurate measurements and customer service.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in customer/patient interactions, and ideally ABO/ABOC/NCLE certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year in customer/patient interaction.
• Prior medical office experience preferred; ophthalmic experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret insurance forms.
• HIPAA compliance required.
• Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Deliver world-class Total Patient Experience and build relationships with patients.
• Determine patient needs and upsell to exceed expectations.
• Assist with frame selection based on style and measurements.
• Operate auto-lensometer and lensometer.
• Educate on lenses, coatings and frames.
• Collect measurements (bridge, eye size, PD, etc.).
• Dispense orders and adjust frames.
• Maintain inventory and keep areas clean and organized.
• Follow all policies and procedures.
• Support other duties as needed.
