Job summary

Nationwide Vision in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Optical Technician to support the Total Patient Experience, dispense and fit glasses and contacts, and assist with prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.

The position involves selecting frames, taking facial and eye measurements, and operating lensometers. ABO/NCLE preferred but not required; 1+ year customer-facing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous ophthalmic/medical office experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year in a role interacting with customers/patients.
• Background check satisfactory as required by state.
• Proof of identity and right to work in the United States required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Total Patient Experience and medical support to patients.
• Assist patients in selecting frames based on style, color, and prescriptions.
• Operate auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to suit patient needs.
• Take measurements including bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, PD, pantoscopic tilt.
• Dispense orders and perform frame repairs/adjustments.
• Process glasses and/or contacts orders using current procedures.
