Job summary

Nationwide Vision in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Optical Technician to support the Total Patient Experience by dispensing glasses and contacts and aligning prescriptions written by eye care professionals.

You will assist with frame selection, measurements, and lens options, while maintaining inventory and adhering to privacy policies. Strong communication and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance forms.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Embrace total patient experience to build relationships with patients and provide medical support.
• Determine patients' wants and needs and sell to exceed expectations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and measurements.
• Operate the auto-lensometer and manual lensometer.
• Educate and recommend lenses, coatings and frames.
