Job summary

Sam's Club in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Optical Associate to assist members with eyewear, measurements, and repairs. You will process orders, verify prescriptions, and maintain the Optical area in line with policy and HIPAA considerations.

Responsibilities include final inspections, equipment calibration, and coordinating with labs. ABO certification within 15 months and state licensure progress are required, with preference for health care or retail experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry.
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire.
• Must satisfy state licensure requirements to become apprentice/licensed optician.
• Preferred: Experience in health care or retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, and repairs.
• Process optical orders and verify prescription information.
• Maintain the Optical area per policy and manage claims/returns.
• Conduct final eyewear inspections and ensure calibration of equipment.
