Job summary

Sam's Club in Peoria, IL is seeking an Optical Associate to stock and organize the Optical area, process member purchases, and support OD services. You will measure pupillary distance, verify prescriptions, and help customers choose frames and lenses, using both manual and digital tools.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ABO certification within 15 months, or state apprenticeship/licensure where required. Previous retail or health-care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO certification within 15 months of hire or as required by state law.
• Willingness to obtain required state licensure and apprenticeship as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Stock, organize and maintain the Optical area, including safety and cleanliness.
• Assist members with eyewear purchases, measurements, and adjustments; process orders.
• Operate POS, handle payments and returns following policy and procedures.
• Maintain records in HIPAA compliance and coordinate with labs/ODs for orders and repairs.
