Job summary

Warby Parker is opening a new store in Chattanooga and seeks an Optical Manager to lead our in-house Optical team, coach the Opticians, and consult customers to ensure exceptional eyewear experiences. You will take measurements, ensure frames meet standards, and collaborate with the Store Leader on staffing and programs while promoting a culture of learning and high service.

Qualifications

• Licensed dispensing optician with state licensure or ABO certification and 2+ years in a management role.
• Strong leadership and mentorship abilities with ability to drive optical metrics.
• Professional and open-minded decision-making for team.
• Passion for eyewear and retail industries.
• Clear communication, able to explain technical terms to customers.
• Experience coaching and developing staff on the shop floor where needed.

Responsibilities

• Optical duties: Work directly with customers to meet eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
• Ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Leadership responsibilities: Manage a team of Opticians and provide feedback.
• Uphold exceptional service standards and implement loyalty programs.
• Report to Store Leader and assist with staffing and Apprentice Program.
• Maintain HR policy knowledge to promote a productive store culture.
• Support store systems, inventory databases, and general operations.
