Boscov's Department Store, LLC is seeking an Optical Manager to lead the optical team while performing dispensing optician duties and managing day-to-day operations. You will interact with customers, confirm appointments, verify insurance, and liaise with the lab to ensure timely order processing.

The role emphasizes supervision, training of staff, attention to HIPAA compliance, and maintaining a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience in retail.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Proficient with computer systems for sales, ordering and timekeeping.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule, including Saturdays.
• Active, able to move about throughout department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by overseeing appointments and customer interactions.
• Interpret prescriptions and coordinate with the lens lab to ensure orders are processed timely.
• Lead, coach, and develop store associates to achieve sales goals and high service quality.
• Oversee daily store operations including scheduling, workflow, inventory, and order status updates.
• Process third-party vision insurance benefits and claims with accuracy and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain a clean, organized optical department reflecting brand standards.
