Job summary

Affinity Eye Care is seeking an Optical Consultant who works with our optometrists to deliver outstanding patient care and education. You will help patients select frames, lenses, and coatings, while explaining products, insurance benefits, and warranties.

You will also enter prescriptions into the EHR/ALE system, communicate order status, and ensure accurate documentation. This role emphasizes patient service, technical accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced on-site setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic Windows operations.
• Able to maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle and needs.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, warranties, and available promotions.
• Enter and verify prescription information in the EHR/ALE system and ensure documentation is complete.
• Provide exceptional patient care, handle calls, and update patients on order status and delays.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace and ensure proper eyewear fitting and adjustments.
