AEG is seeking an Optical Consultant to assist Optometrists and educate patients, ensuring outstanding care and accurate documentation. You will participate in exams, schedule referrals when needed, and manage patient communications within HIPAA guidelines.

The role emphasizes team collaboration, strong attention to detail, and proficient use of MS Office and Windows in a fast-paced clinical setting on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to the exam (dilations, diagnostics, visual acuity, etc.).
• Conduct verbal interview with patient to capture medical issues and exam context for the Optometrist.
• May schedule referrals and complete related paperwork for Ophthalmology or other specialists.
• Record and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and policy guidelines.
