Job summary

Affinity Eye Care in Brentwood, TN is seeking an Optical Consultant to support Optometrists in patient care and education. You will help patients understand frames, lenses, treatments, and insurance while handling prescriptions and entering data into the EHR.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing.
• Strong organizational skills and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary patient experiences and explains product recommendations.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and treatments based on lifestyle.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter data into EHR/ALE with proper documentation.
• Follow-up on pending orders and notify patients when eyewear is ready.
• Dispense glasses, check fit, adjust for comfort, and seek feedback.
• Educate patients on insurance, warranties, and care plans.
• Maintain cleanliness and organize frame displays and work area.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about orders and status.
• Inspect final product for flaws and perform eyewear adjustments.
