AEG is seeking an Optical Consultant to support Optometrists and ensure exceptional patient care. You will perform preliminary evaluations, conduct patient interviews, and help schedule referrals while maintaining accurate EHR documentation.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Strong attention to details and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with MS Office, Windows, and word processing tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with coworkers and patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary patient evaluations prior to exam (dilation, topicals, diagnostic meds, Optomap, auto refractor, visual acuity).
• Conduct verbal interview with patient before visit to identify medical issues for Optometrist review.
• Schedule referrals and complete related paperwork when needed.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA.
• Respond to patient inquiries about medication and treatments.
• Assist with diagnostic testing using equipment (OCT, Visual Field, Pachymetry, Retinal Camera).
• Document findings and communication in EHR; assist with clerical medical documentation.
