Job summary

Walmart in Lewisville, TX, seeks an Optical Associate to stock and merchandise the Optical area, process member purchases, and assist with frames, lenses, and contact lens orders. You will measure pupillary distance, adjust fittings, and collaborate with labs and OD services.

Training and certification become part of the role. Strong customer service in a retail health-care setting is preferred; HIPAA procedures and policees must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• ABO certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• State licensure requirements; apprentice/permit to work within 60 days where applicable.
• Experience in health care or retail setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stocking and merchandising in Optical area; handle claims, returns, and POS transactions.
• Educate members on eyewear usage and care; assist in measurements and fittings.
• Perform pupillary distance measurements and lens fitting for various prescriptions.
• Process eyewear and contact lens orders; coordinate with labs and optometrists.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant records and assist in appointments and trainings.
