Job summary

Sam's Club in Garland, TX is seeking an Optical Associate to help maintain the Optical area, assist members with eyewear choices, measure pupillary distance, and process eyewear orders and repairs.

The role includes performing frame adjustments, handling payments, and educating members on eyewear care while complying with HIPAA and company policies. This is a full-time position with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire in order to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Must complete all applicable state licensure requirements and obtain optician licensure within 3 months of completing the minimum apprenticeship hours required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Maintains merchandise presentation in the Optical area and processes member purchases and returns.
• Educates members on eyewear usage and care; supports contact lens insertions, removals, and hygiene guidance.
• Performs frame adjustments and repairs and completes final inspection of eyewear prior to dispensing.
• Coordinates with labs and optometrists regarding job status and product updates.
