Job summary

Walmart is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain the Optical department, stock merchandise, set up displays, and ensure accurate pricing and signing. You will handle damaged goods, sign and price merchandise, and secure fragile items while following company policies.

Responsibilities include assisting members with eyewear decisions, taking measurements for lenses, repairing frames, processing orders, and ensuring proper documentation and calibration of optical equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire to sit for ABO exam.
• Must obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification within 15 months of hire or job entry.
• Willingness and ability to work with Manager to register and maintain own NPI number as required by state law.
• Licensed/Registered States Only: must become apprentice optician and obtain state licensure within required timelines.

Responsibilities

• Stock and present merchandise, set up displays, sign and price items, and handle damaged goods.
• Maintain Optical area according to procedures, including claims, returns, zoning, and paperwork.
• Receive, audit, and maintain hearing aid inventory; process sales and refunds via POS system.
