Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking an Optical Associate in Laredo, TX to support eyewear sales, measurements, and repairs. You will stock and organize the Optical area, process orders, and assist members with prescription details in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include frame adjustments, inspections, and coordinating with labs/optometrists. A valid ABO certification and state licensure are required or pursued within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent at entry or within 12 months to sit for ABO exam
• Must obtain ABO certification within 15 months of hire
• Must obtain state licensure as an apprentice/licensed optician within 18 months
• Must complete state-required apprenticeship hours and licensure within required timeline

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with eyewear choices and measurements
• Process eyewear and contact lens orders; handle payments and refunds
• Perform frame adjustments, repairs and final inspection of eyewear
• Maintain Optical area; manage inventory and paperwork
• Educate members on eyewear usage and care; support contact lens insertion and hygiene
