Job summary

Sam's Club in Des Moines, IA seeks an Optical Associate to assist members with eyewear purchases, perform measurements, and support OD services. You will stock and inspect frames, process orders, and ensure correct prescription data while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records.

Roles include educating members on lens options, assisting in fittings, and coordinating with labs to ensure timely delivery of eyewear and contact lenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ABO certification within 15 months of hire is required or to be pursued.
• Experience in optical retail or healthcare settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with eyewear decisions, measurements, and adjustments.
• Stock and organize Optical area and process claims/returns in store policies.
• Perform final inspection of eyewear and ensure proper pricing and labeling.
• Handle sales, payments, refunds and refunds through the POS system.
• Educate members on eyewear usage, care, and lens options while supporting lab communications.
