Job summary

Sam's Club is seeking an Optical Associate to maintain displays, process member purchases, and ensure accurate eyewear prescriptions. You will measure pupillary distance, assist with frame adjustments, and support OD services as needed.

The role involves stocking, signing, pricing, and handling claims while upholding company policies and HIPAA guidelines. A high school diploma or GED is required, with ABO certification pursued within 15 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; ABO certification within 15 months.
• Willingness to register and maintain own NPI number as required by state.
• Must meet state licensure requirements to become an apprentice optician and obtain licensure within required hours.

Responsibilities

• Stock and present optical merchandise, set up displays, price items, and sign displays.
• Handle claims, returns, zoning, and shrink in Optical area.
• Operate POS, process member purchases, payments, refunds, and exchanges.
• Assist in eyewear orders, measure pupillary distance, and verify prescription info.
• Adjust and repair frames and lenses, and perform final eyewear inspection.
• Support OD services, including pre-testing and patient appointments when applicable.
