Tidewater Eye Centers in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Surgical Coordinator to manage the surgical scheduling process, pre-op education, and coordination across facilities. The role requires traveling to satellite offices and handling patient financial counseling and payments.

You'll ensure accurate insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries, and support physicians with fee discussions, while delivering attentive, patient-centered service in a busy ophthalmology practice.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in financial counseling is preferred.
• Experience working with insurance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgery and pre-surgery education with patients and facilities.
• Coordinate pre-op appointments with patients or caregivers.
• Verify insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries, and counsel patients on finances.
• Counsel patients on Physician Fee and Eye Surgery Center.
• Follow up on and collect surgery payments.
