UF Health is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to oversee scheduling for clinic physicians, coordinating pre-operative appointments and related tests. You will liaise between departments, patients, surgeons, and the hospital to ensure seamless care plans and accurate authorizations.

You will use EPIC scheduling tools and support staff with process improvements. The role emphasizes customer service, administrative accuracy, and travel up to 10% while maintaining high-quality patient care

Qualifikationen

• 2 years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare environment.
• 2 years of customer service experience.
• 2 years of experience working with third-party payors (insurance carriers).
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate the scheduling of pre-operative appointments, testing and related services.
• Attend and participate in referrals/coordinator training sessions and meetings.
• Instruct patients on administrative, financial and pre-operative processes.
• Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorization, and communicate the surgical plan.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families and treatment team.
• Utilize EPIC and external scheduling processes; identify equipment/personnel needs.
• Review reports to confirm authorization aligns with procedures.
• Prepare reports and educate staff on new processes and policies.
• Participate as an active care team member in patient care coordination.
