Job summary

Azul Vision in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a patient services coordinator to coordinate and schedule all aspects of patient surgeries for ophthalmologists in a multispecialty group practice. Responsibilities include pre-operative testing coordination, insurance verification, obtaining pre-authorizations and scheduling follow-up visits.

You will provide administrative support, collect patient payments, manage records in registration systems, and maintain confidentiality while communicating clearly

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in medical field, preferably ophthalmology.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Flexible schedule Monday–Friday.
• Experience counseling surgical patients preferred.
• ABO or COA ophthalmic certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surgical schedule for surgeons.
• Communicate with patients about scheduling, pre-op testing and visits, insurance requirements, surgical consents, facility ownership disclosure, transportation requirements, financial requirements, financial hardship assistance.
• Contact facilities for scheduling.
• Arrange for pre-op testing.
• Schedule pre-op visits.
• Call for necessary pre-authorizations.
• Coordinate paperwork.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Attend required meetings.
