Qualifications

Certified Patient Service Specialist (CPSS) Certification, preferred.
Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Obtains demographic information and insurance for verification.
Schedules all ophthalmic surgical procedures per physician direction.
Obtains referrals for procedures and required medical clearances.
Explains consent forms and obtains patient signatures.
Collects co-pays and upcoming payments as necessary.
Processes incoming faxes, scans documents into patient charts, and sends for medical review.
Sends office notes and scheduling updates to referring physicians.
Communicates frequently with clinical/optical teams.
Other duties as assigned.
