AVP SEES Group seeks a Surgery Counselor to coordinate all surgical scheduling for an ophthalmology practice, acting as the liaison between patients, surgeons, and facilities. You will manage pre- and post-operative appointments, authorizations, and patient education to ensure a seamless experience.

The role emphasizes accurate coordination, cross-functional communication, and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards, supporting a positive patient journey across locations.

Qualifications

• Two years of surgical scheduling experience in healthcare, preferably ophthalmology.
• Strong knowledge of insurance authorizations and billing for surgical services.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and schedule surgeries, ensuring accurate procedure details and provider availability.
• Communicate dates, instructions, and pre/post-operative care to patients.
• Verify insurance authorizations and coverage with carriers and patients.
• Ensure pre-operative requirements, such as medical clearances and tests, are completed.
• Maintain organized scheduling to prevent conflicts and improve workflow.
• Provide patients with cost information and payment options for procedures.
• Follow HIPAA/OSHA regulations and safeguard patient information.
