Job summary

Mercyhealth in Rockford, IL, is seeking an entry to mid-level Clerical/Registration Specialist to support patient flow and Epic EMR processes. You will schedule appointments, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and assist patients with MyChart and general inquiries.

The role requires strong customer service, basic Epic knowledge, and reliable teamwork in a busy clinic environment. Flexible hours and opportunities for cross-location experience are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments.
• Registers patients in Epic EMR and verifies demographics and insurance.
• Collects co-payments and posts payments in Epic.
• Performs cashiering and daily cash handling.
• Answers calls and routes inquiries to the appropriate staff.
• Supports patient communication via MyChart messages.
