Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners in Michigan is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to assist in a clinic setting. You will greet patients, explain what to expect, escort them to an exam room, and perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry.

You will document patient information in the EMR, keep the clinic organized and sterile, assist with minor procedures, and educate patients on medications and post-operative care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and enter information into EMR.
• Explain what to expect during the visit.
• Escort patients to exam rooms.
• Perform tests: visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry.
• Record notes and maintain patient charts.
• Assist with minor procedures and laser treatments as needed.
• Educate patients on medications and post-operative care.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient information.
• Keep the clinic clean and sterilized.
