Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry. You will document findings in EMR and ensure accurate charting while maintaining a sterile clinic environment.

The role requires standing or sitting for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs; a valid driver's license is needed. EMR experience and knowledge of medical terminology are preferred, with an entry-level ideal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Entry level, 0–3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what to expect during their appointment.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and perform diagnostic ophthalmic tests (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
• Enter patient information into EMR and maintain accurate chart records.
• Conduct eye function tests and assist with minor procedure setup.
• Educate patients on medications and pre/post operative instructions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
