Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient care in a clinic setting. You will greet patients, explain appointment expectations, escort to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry prior to the physician visit.

You will maintain accurate notes in the EMR, sterilize and clean, assist with minor surgeries and injections, educate patients on medications and post-operative care, and protect patient information in

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients to accurately gather information and enter it into our EMR system.
• Proactively informs patients about what to expect and communicates delays or changes.
• Documents chief complaint, present illness, and past medical history.
• Records information in EMR according to standards and physician requirements.
• Conducts tests and measures eye muscle function, pupil size and reactivity.
• Applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicates eyes.
• Assists with minor surgeries, intraocular injections and laser treatments; prepares patients for sterile procedures.
