Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners, LLC in Michigan is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry before the physician sees them.

You will document in EMR, maintain patient charts, assist with minor procedures, and educate patients on medications and pre/postoperative instructions while upholding HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what to expect during their appointment.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and perform diagnostic tests (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
• Enter notes into EMR and maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections and laser treatments.
• Educate patients on medications and pre/postoperative instructions.
• Protect patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
