Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support clinic operations, greet patients, explain the visit, and escort them to exam rooms for diagnostic testing like visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry before the physician sees the patient.

You will document patient information in the EMR, maintain charts, assist with sterile procedures, and educate patients on medications and pre/post operative care. The role emphasizes accurate records and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• EMR experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and explain what to expect during the visit.
• Escort patients to the exam room and perform diagnostic tests before the physician review (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
• Document patient information in EMR and update charts.
• Assist with cleaning and sterilizing equipment and treatment areas.
• Apply eye drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
• Assist with minor procedures and ensure pre/post operative instructions are communicated.
