Job summary

STAAR Surgical is seeking an experienced sales professional based in San Diego, CA (or Salt Lake City, UT) to drive direct sales of ophthalmic products and manage a regional territory. You will build relationships with surgeons, execute marketing activities, and collaborate with the team to exceed objectives.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years of ophthalmic medical device experience, OR experience, and a proven top-quartile performance record with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• 3–5 years of experience with ophthalmic medical devices.
• Experience selling to ophthalmologists/optometrists preferred.
• Operating room experience in ophthalmic environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• 1. Responsible for the direct sales of STAAR Surgical’s products.
• 2. Using consultative selling skills, build relationships with surgeons and manage a territory to meet or exceed sales objectives set by sales management.
• 3. Actively participate in sales team activities.
• 4. Communicate in a timely and responsible manner with sales and marketing management, customers, and customer service.
• 5. Establish relationships with key decision makers in Hospitals and Medical Centers.
• 6. Execute marketing activities and promotions to maximize sales results.
• 7. Provide product support in the Surgery/OR.
• 8. Must conduct product consignment inventories in a timely fashion.
• 9. Willing to travel 50%.
• 10. Other duties as assigned.
