Job summary

Acuity Eye Group is seeking a Back Office Technician to support ophthalmic care teams across multiple clinic locations. You will prepare patients for examinations, document medical histories, and assist physicians with a range of vision-related procedures.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Travel to additional clinics may be needed, with a focus on maintaining high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to other clinics.
• Experience in ophthalmic/optometric field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors.
• Document patient chief complaint and medical history.
• Verify ocular and medical health history; document medications.
• Obtain consents; ensure patients read and sign consents.
• Perform refractions and Visual Acuity assessments.
• Perform intraocular pressure (IOP) tests; Tonopen usage.
• Take Fundus photos and perform Visual Field (VF) tests.
• Perform Fluorescein Angiography (FA) and Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG) procedures.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• Maintain clean, sterile exam rooms; stock supplies.
• Provide patient instructions and education materials for home use.
• Document ocular examination findings and maintain patient flow in EMR.
• May drive patients in company vehicle in some clinics.
• Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, ADA and other regulations.
