Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a dedicated ophthalmology assistant for Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Ophthalmology in Winston-Salem, NC. This full-time role supports pre-exam screenings, equipment maintenance, and patient care in a clinic setting.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, COA certification, CPR, and about one year of related experience, preferably in ophthalmology. A comprehensive benefits package and a $6,000 sign-on are offered to eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• COA certification in Ophthalmology required.
• CPR certification required (AHA or Red Cross).
• 1 year related eye-care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs preliminary screenings including medical/ocular history, visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, pupil exam, and visual field testing.
• Maintain ophthalmic exam lanes and equipment in clinic.
• Clean and stock exam rooms and equipment.
• Interact professionally with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians; maintain patient confidentiality.
