Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant in High Point, NC to conduct preliminary ophthalmic screenings and tests under physician supervision. The role supports ophthalmologists in a clinic setting with patient-focused care.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and at least one year of related work experience; ophthalmology experience is a plus. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours weekly, with a $6,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification required (AHA or ARC).
• One year work experience, preferably in an eye-related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary screenings ordered by the physician (history, visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, pupil exam, ocular medications, and visual field testing).
• Maintain ophthalmic exam lanes and equipment; clean rooms; keep exam areas stocked.
• Interact with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians professionally while maintaining confidentiality.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to maintain CPR certification and required competencies.
• Under physician direction, may perform prescription refills following guidelines.
