Job summary

FedEx is seeking a frontline Operations Supervisor to support the Safety Above All culture and oversee daily package sortation operations and a staff of handlers and administrative personnel. The role includes hiring, coaching, performance management, and ensuring compliance with FedEx and regulatory policies.

Responsibilities also cover planning, staffing, training, safety program administration, and ongoing process improvement to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.

• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with various audience levels and group sizes

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations and staff within the facility
• Promote and enforce FedEx Safety Above All culture
• Hire, discipline, and coach staff; evaluate performance
• Plan, organize, staff, direct and control day-to-day operations
• Manage staff to ensure safe and efficient sortation of packages
• Analyze performance data and drive improvements
• Lead meetings and communicate updates and goals to staff
• Develop safety and training programs and administer related policies
• Address customer service issues and escalate when needed
• Mentor junior supervisors and adapt to changing business needs
