Job summary

ABF Freight leads operations at multiple service centers, including the Long Beach location. The Supervisor, Operations I oversees daily activities, ensures adherence to procedures, and coordinates loading and unloading with a hands-on leadership approach.

• Leadership experience preferred (2+ years) and strong communication skills.
• General knowledge of freight, regulations, safety standards is preferred.
• Education may be substituted by relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading of freight on shifts.
• Communicate assignments and monitor performance with employees.
• Maintain load plans and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks and provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations.
• Foster safety, teamwork, and positive relations with business partners.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment and adherence to company standards.
