Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, seeks a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee daily Service Center operations, supervise staff, and ensure adherence to procedures and safety standards. This role involves coordinating loading/unloading across shifts, training personnel, and maintaining productive teams in a demanding dock environment with varied weather conditions.

Requirements include a high school diploma (bachelor's preferred), 2 years of leadership experience, and knowledge of freight

Qualifications

• Leadership experience and strong communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Knowledge of safety standards and warehouse operations.
• Comfort with shift work, including evenings and weekends.
• Familiarity with freight handling and transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading to ensure timely, safe operations.
• Communicate assignments and monitor performance across shifts.
• Maintain load plans and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks according to unloading/loading schedules.
• Provide training, performance feedback, and disciplinary input as needed.
• Foster a safe, compliant work environment with a focus on safety and wellness.
• Collaborate with partners to meet service standards.
• Support company values and culture in daily operations.
