Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, is seeking a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee daily Service Center operations and ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards. The role involves hands-on leadership in a dock environment with varying weather and shift hours.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of leadership experience (transportation preferred) and strong communication skills, with a focus on safety, productivity, and teamwork.

• Experience in transportation or service center operations preferred.
• Shows ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and control resources for loading/unloading operations.
• Communicate tasks and monitor performance across shifts.
• Maintain load plans and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks according to schedules and ensure safety compliance.
• Provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Foster safety, positive communication, and relations with partners.
