Job summary

ABF Freight®, an ArcBest® company, seeks a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee daily Service Center operations, ensuring work follows company procedures, standards, and specifications. This hands-on leader coordinates loading/unloading activities and promotes safety and productivity.

You will supervise employees, mentor staff, and partner with carriers to meet service targets, while maintaining a safe, compliant, and collaborative work environment in varying weather and indoor/outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
• Coordinate with employees to ensure clear direction and monitor performance.
• Maintain load plans and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Assign tasks to workers according to unloading/loading schedules.
• Provide training, analyses, performance feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Give positive and constructive feedback to employees.
• Foster relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Ensure a clean, safe working environment for personnel and visiting customers.
• Promote safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
• Maintain a positive attitude in a high‑intensity environment.
• Work in a team setting to achieve department goals.

• Undertake other duties and projects as assigned.
