Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, seeks a Supervisor, Operations I to oversee daily Service Center operations and lead a team of associates. You will drive safety, efficiency, and adherence to company procedures while coordinating loading and unloading activities and maintaining service standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage resources in a fast-paced environment, with schedule variations including days, nights, and weekends depending on

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required; experience may substitute.
• 2 years leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in transportation or freight handling a plus.
• General computer knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of freight handling regulations and safety standards preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and time efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control resources for loading/unloading of freight on shifts.
• Coordinate with employees, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
• Maintain load plans and balance for safe vehicle operation.
• Provide training, feedback, and disciplinary recommendations as needed.
• Foster relationships with business partners to meet service standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment; promote safety.
