Responsibilities
- Maintain the ability to perform all tasks within the plasma center, including production employee duties
- Supervise donor flow, donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal procedures
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
- Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records
- Maintain the facility in a neat and clean condition and keep equipment in good working order
- Submit timely and accurate reports to the Center Manager and/or Assistant Manager
- Assist in controlling center donor funds
- Train new employees and retrain current employees
- Communicate with other service areas to ensure accurate documentation and quality
- Build rapport with donors to support customer satisfaction and long-term donation
- Report unsafe situations or conditions to area lead, supervisor, or manager
- May be trained to repair plasma center equipment
- Assist the Center Manager and/or Assistant Manager with tasks supporting company objectives
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Processor, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer
- Typically requires 4 years of related experience performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling difficult situations
- Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms
- Ability to use personal protective equipment, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
- Ability to stand for up to 4 to 6 hours per day and sit for 1 to 2 hours per day
- Ability to bend, twist, squat, crouch, and perform frequent hand and foot movements
- Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Essential hearing acuity
- Color perception/discrimination and correctable near and far vision
- Ability to communicate and understand spoken and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and under oral or written guidance
- Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
