Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Plasma Center Operations Manager in the United States to oversee donor operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with FDA/OSHA/CLIA in a high-volume plasma center. You will coordinate staffing, training, and coaching, manage inventories, and drive donor throughput while maintaining quality and safety across assigned shifts.

Strong leadership and documentation skills are essential for success in this critical role.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Phlebotomist, Donor Center Technician, Plasma Processor and Trainer certifications required.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Typically 6 years of related phlebotomy/donor/plasma experience.
  • Strong English communication; bilingual in some cases helpful.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and work in a regulated, high-volume setting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as acting leader in the Center Manager's absence when assigned.
  • Perform tasks within the plasma center including production and donor-flow supervision.
  • Oversee donor operations and supervise operations supervisors and staff.
  • Coordinate staffing, break schedules, and coaching; create employee schedules.
  • Determine inventory levels and submit vendor orders; monitor supplies.
  • Inform Center Manager of irregularities and provide corrective action plans.
  • Execute daily plans to achieve donor throughput, quality, and productivity targets.
  • Partner with Center Manager and Quality to resolve deviations and concerns.
  • Monitor donor flow and address delays or service issues.
  • Maintain compliance with state/federal regulations, FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, CGMP.
  • Supervise donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records.
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings; ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment condition; submit reports.
  • Assist with center donor funds control; participate in onboarding and cross-training.
  • Communicate with service areas to ensure documentation and quality.
  • Promote safety, teamwork, and accountability; report unsafe situations.

Job description

  • Serve as acting leader in the Center Manager's absence when assigned

  • Determine and adjust inventory levels and submit vendor orders
  • Inform the Center Manager of irregularities and provide corrective action plans
  • Execute daily operational plans to achieve donor throughput, quality, and productivity targets
  • Partner with the Center Manager and Quality team to resolve deviations and operational concerns
  • Monitor donor flow and address delays or service issues
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and company procedures
  • Supervise donor selection, plasma collection, and manufacturing records
  • Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
  • Ensure accurate documentation and records
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment condition
  • Submit timely reports to the Center Manager
  • Assist with control of center donor funds
  • Participate in onboarding, training, and cross-training staff
  • Communicate with other service areas to ensure accurate documentation and quality
  • Promote safety, teamwork, and accountability
  • Report unsafe situations or conditions
  • May be trained to repair plasma center equipment
  • Assist the Center Manager with tasks supporting company objectives
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified as a Phlebotomist, Donor Center Technician, Plasma Processor, and Designated Trainer
  • CPR Certified
  • Typically requires 6 years of related experience performing phlebotomy, donor processing, and plasma processing duties
  • Demonstrated proficiency handling difficult situations
  • Proficient in speaking and writing English, with legible handwriting
  • Where applicable, bilingual skills
  • Ability to understand, explain, and follow SOPs and protocols
  • Ability to work flexible scheduling to meet business needs
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated, operations-intensive, high-volume medical business
  • Ability to meet the stated physical, safety, environmental, vision, hearing, and lifting demands
  • Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education, experience, and/or competencies may be considered in place of stated requirements
