Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company in Grenada, Mississippi is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily production operations, applying Lean 80/20 principles and the Daily Management System to ensure safe, efficient performance.

You will supervise production supervisors, drive continuous improvement, and partner with engineering to align capabilities with product specifications while maintaining cost discipline and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) preferred.
• Experience in the data center or HVAC industry preferred.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably HVAC, metal fabrication/assembly, or industrial equipment production.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient in manufacturing software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Promote, utilize and drive the Daily Management System to ensure an efficient and effective operating system is in place.
• Provide development and guidance to the hourly and salaried workforce through proper coaching, partnering and relationship building.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Production Supervisors and skilled labor.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
• Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual operating plans goals; develop long and short range plans using 80/20 and lean principles.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to align production capabilities with product specifications.
• Implement and monitor KPIs to assess operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support the development and implementation of the capital plan to provide adequate capacity, aggressive quality improvement, and strong cost and asset control.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
