Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Front-Line Manager in Training in Richmond, TX to participate in a six-week development program within Service Operations. The program prepares you to lead operational processes and high-performing teams, with exposure to inventory management and cosmetic/mechanical repair.

Upon completion, you will advance into one of several leadership roles, and you will be responsible for the EH&S program in your department, ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and manage teams to achieve operational goals.
• Strong data interpretation and record accuracy for process compliance.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with associates and customers.
• Proficiency in common and proprietary software systems.
• Driver’s license and flexibility to work in indoor/outdoor environments, including inclement weather.
• Willingness to work on varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate comprehension of training content throughout the program.
• Support execution of store procedures and operational processes to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Complete CarMax’s Management Development Program and apply leadership principles in real-world scenarios.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and meet production goals.
• Model CarMax values by fostering integrity, respect, and a customer-first mindset in all interactions.
• Prepare for transition into a leadership role, ensuring readiness to manage associates and drive performance.
• Responsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program for your department and/or location, including but not limited to self-inspections, hazardous waste disposal, workplace safety, and PPE.
