Job summary

Job description

The Brumback Library in Van Wert, Ohio, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Operations Manager/Fiscal Officer position.

This position is responsible for overseeing the library's financial and administrative operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, HR administration, donor records, and support for the Library's Enrichment Foundation. The position also oversees custodial and on-call maintenance staff and coordinates key office and facility operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and financial-reporting skills, excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences. Payroll and bookkeeping experience is required. An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience with governmental or nonprofit accounting is preferred, and public-sector budgeting or library finance experience is a plus.

Training & Transition

The Brumback Library is committed to a successful transition into this position. The selected candidate will work closely with our current staff member during an initial training period to become familiar with the library's financial systems, procedures, payroll processes, reporting requirements, and administrative operations. The goal is to provide thorough training and support before the successful candidate assumes these responsibilities independently.

The position reports to the Library Director for administrative and operational matters and to the Board of Trustees for fiduciary oversight and statutory responsibilities.
