Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line offers a Management Trainee program designed to build a foundation for a career in operations management. Trainees gain hands-on experience in service center operations, logistics, and team leadership, with mentorship and the opportunity to earn a CDL.

The program covers safety, quality, efficiency, and service while trainees rotate through shifts and departments, preparing them to supervise and optimize daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Solid work history and professional appearance expected.
• Must be open to relocation after trainee program.

Responsibilities

• Complete shift manager's training as an understudy.
• Trainees will train on forklift operations and other service center jobs.
• Participate in the Old Dominion Truck Driving Training program to obtain a CDL license.
• Fill in as a supervisor on various shifts and departments.
• Develop and implement process improvements for operating procedures.
• Maintain records of efficiency, quality, cost, and loads.
• Assist in payroll updates and employee information in Workday.
