Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking motivated individuals for its Management Trainee program in a dynamic service-center environment. Trainees gain hands-on experience across logistics, freight management, and team leadership, with mentorship from industry experts and CDL attainment opportunities.

Participants will train across operations, scheduling, safety, and performance metrics while preparing to supervise shifts and departments.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; AS400 experience helpful.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid work history and professional appearance.
• Willingness to relocate after trainee program.

Responsibilities

• Complete shift manager’s training as an understudy.
• Trainees will complete forklift training and production exercises.
• Trainees will participate in CDL training via ODTDT program.
• Fill in as supervisor on various shifts and departments.
• Develop new indicators and implement process changes.
• Move freight in AS400 and maintain efficiency records.
• Assist in payroll updates in Workday as needed.
