Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking an Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (OASM-IT) to gain hands-on experience in store operations, customer service, safety standards, inventory, and profitability. You will work closely with the Store Manager and ASMs, learning to lead by example during a structured six-week training program at the store.

This program covers staffing and scheduling, stock integrity, performance management, policy adherence, and opening/closing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of work experience in retail management.
• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership experience required.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured training program covering operations, customer service, sales & profitability, and policies.
• Support staffing and scheduling, stock integrity, and associate selling behaviors.
• Assist in performance management and disciplinary processes where needed.
• Open/close MOD duties and uphold store SOPs, safety, and compliance.
• Lead by example to drive customer service and store performance.
