Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking an Operations Assistant Store Manager in Training (OASM-IT) to gain hands-on experience across store operations, customer service, safety, inventory, and profitability. During the up-to-6-week training, you will work with the Store Manager and ASMs to learn key responsibilities and develop leadership skills.

You will collaborate with store teams to manage sections including Customer Service Desk, Receiving, Tool Rental, Order Fulfillment, and Back Office, while ensuring

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• High school diploma and/or GED typical knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree typical knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• 50% Training and Preparing for Assistant Manager Position - structured program covering operations, customer service, sales & profitability, and policies.
• 15% Customer Experience - supervise associates and drive customer service and engagement.
• 15% Sales and Productivity - plan merchandise placement, signing, and stock integrity; manage store equipment and daily financial ops.
• 10% Operations Management - Open/Close MOD and follow SOPs; enforce policies and mitigate shrink.
• 10% Safety - ensure safety/hazmat compliance and safety guidelines.
