Job summary

American Water is seeking an Operations Associate to support water and wastewater operations, distribution, field operations, and regulatory compliance. The role involves heavy clerical tasks, data management, and coordination across systems.

You will handle payroll, invoices, journal entries, and customer interactions, with opportunities for salary growth and supportive benefits. Peoria-based role with chance for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college courses preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years clerical experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Processes and maintains payroll, accounts payable, invoices, inventory issues/receipts, purchase orders, customer payments, and bank deposits.
• Research, compile, and update information in systems; maintains journals and ledgers.
• Interacts with internal/external customers and provides assistance.
• Researches and resolves customer questions and problems.
• Production chemical ordering.
• Prepares and responds to data requests and executes work orders, service orders, error reports, set-ups in SAP, Coupa and myTime.
• Compiles and reviews multifaceted reports daily/weekly/monthly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
