Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Coordinator Scheduling Operating Room to facilitate welcoming access to the facility and establish patient encounters per hospital guidelines. The role ensures accurate data entry for demographics and financial information, contributing to the successful financial outcomes of patient services.

The advanced position promotes demonstrated knowledge to use good judgment in resolving customer issues and supporting scheduling operations across the hospital.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred with emphasis in Health/business-related field.
• 6 months scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• SCHEDULING: Obtains and inputs patient demographics, financial and guarantor information for scheduling.
• Data fields include address, employment, insurance, guarantor, diagnosis, and physician information.
• Prioritizes and completes scheduling in a courteous, professional, accurate, and timely manner.
• Reviews the schedule to ensure accuracy.
• Ensures each patient is assigned only one medical record number.
• Selects the appropriate patient type based on department and services required.
• Documents in account notes.
• Ensures orders are aligned with tests and procedures.
• Confirms schedule with physicians daily and notes null schedules.
• CUSTOMER FOCUS: Greets patients and builds productive relationships.
• Represents the Surgery department professionally at all times.
• Works with other departments to resolve scheduling issues promptly.
• Assists in disaster events and supports department targets.
• Completes required training and performs other duties as assigned.

Education
