Job summary

HCA Florida Twin Cities Hospital is seeking an RN to evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate families about procedures, and manage preoperative care with IV therapy and medications. You will participate in surgical site verification and follow universal protocols while monitoring for emergencies.

You will work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care, documenting changes thoroughly and supporting continuous improvement in perioperative care.

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse)
• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date
• Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree required
• No travel required
• No prior experience required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education about the peri-operative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, surgical technologists and team
• Use nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to ensure safe care
• Monitor patient condition and document changes
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment and follow-up
